Process Serving “True” Story
Melissa Jones

Many debtors who have been avoiding service will hardly ever open their doors to strangers. They remain hidden to avoid service, but Aristocrat process servers know that no one can hide forever. We approach process service challenges with exceptional creativity, going above and beyond to complete service on even the most elusive of intended recipients.

In one case I tried for a few weeks to serve a woman who would not open her door. I went at all different hours of the day and night, but she would never open her door. The specific papers I needed to serve required personal service only, so I knew I had to figure out a way to get her to open that door.

One night as I was out serving papers, I noticed an unused gift bag I had left on my back seat. I was struck with an inspiration! I went to the dollar store and bought some colorful tissue paper. I placed the papers in the bag, carefully arranged the tissue paper to hide the bag’s contents, and proceeded to the subject’s home. It was dusk when I arrived, so there was still a little daylight. I knocked on the door and advised that I had a delivery. I anticipated the woman’s suspicions, so I made the bag very noticeable, holding it up so she could easily see it through her window and door.

The woman asked who the delivery was for and I stated the name on the papers. She flung the door open and said, “That’s me” as she quickly grabbed the bag. I told her there were court papers in the bag and that she had just been served. I then hurried to my car.

By the time I got to my car, the woman had discovered the papers in the bag. She started yelling expletives and said that I had played a horrible trick on her. I advised her before I shut my car door, “Sorry ma’am, but you’ve just been served.” I drove away with the satisfaction that comes with another job well done.

Aristocrat process servers are accustomed to finding people who do not want to be found. We know that some people will only open their doors to things that benefit them, and we use this insight to successfully serve hard to reach recipients.

Our many satisfied clients know that at Aristocrat Process Serving we never go above the law, but we always go above and beyond to get the job done!
